About Flat Screen Televisions

LCD Televisions: Screen images are very bright. LCD’s use less energy than plasma screens. Anti-reflective screens reduce glare in rooms with windows or lights. Screen burn-in from static images is not an issue. 

LED Televisions: This is a type of TV which uses LED backlighting to achieve better colour reproduction, slimmer form factor and higher contrast of blacks and whites. LED Televisions use less energy and have a longer life span than Plasma and LCD Backlit TV’s. 

Plasma Televisions: Plasma create richer colours and deeper black levels than LCD’s and LED Backlit TVs. Plasmas are extremely prone to reflections from lights and windows, and are vulnerable to burn-in from static images. 

High Definition Resolution: Provides a resolution that is substantially higher than that of standard definition television HDTV source resolutions are indicated by one of the following values: 720p, 1080i or 1080p. You must have a high definition signal/service to get a high definition picture. 

SMART TV: Sometimes referred to as connected TV or hybrid TV, describes the intergration of the internet and web features into television, as well as the technological convergence between computers and television sets. Smart Television’s have a higher focus on online interactive media, and less focus on traditional broadcast media.
